Well finally got the Korg R3 synth I ordered a couple weeks ago and let me say it ROCKS!! This synth not only has all the great synth sounds with 128 different patterns but you can tweak the modulation, pitch and so many other things it could take years to use them all well. Not to woory though because you can quickly grasp how to make sounds work for you and with your other instruments and recording equipment. I already have a rough cut of a new tune that I decided to post at Reverb nation after only a few hours of use!! I took the SEA TALK setting on the R3 and a drum pattern from my BR1600 and put them together. It did take a while to get the drum beat to a tempo that closely matched the delaay and modulation on the R3. After a couple dozen tries I found a good match and then added some guitar to it.
I got my minimoog in 2007 and I was so excited! It is a virtual analog synth that was in use in Yes’s day. It has a lot of presets and I tweaked a couple to make an airplane noise bright piano and heavenly birds among others. I used it in a jam session (jam session#2) on my reverb page. It was great. Of course I knew how to work with it beforehand but still managed to produce something that I knew would be at least interesting.
Yes technology is great and love Yes saw them many times and both of their keyboardists are great! Also love the synths ELP used back in those days especially in the song Lucky Man!

It’s surprising you mentioned this is the first time you’ve approached it like that.. Since it certainly didn’t sound like any of this was built upon unfamiliar ground, if that makes sense. As others have said.. Sounds very “professional”
My favorite song now
For how long have you played the guitar? I have just played electric guitar for one month and it is really hard on my fingers, they’re going better though.
Daron hang in there it gets easier as you get callouses on your fingers … also try not to press too hard just enough to get a good clean note not the death grip … starting with lighter gauge string can help … try and learn the pentatonic scale many songs are off this and the pattern is the same for all keys you just move them up or down a number of frets. I play guitar but Bass is more my thing now. checkout my page at reverbnation
I have been a reader for a long time, but am a first time commenter. New Korg R3 whatz on your mind was a wonderful read. I just wanted to say great post!
