Telsa still Electrifiez – at the Rialto

Thursday, June 25th, 2009

last concert I went to was Tesla at the Rialto theater in Joliet! The Late 80’s and 1990’s band did many of their Old rock Classics as well as the Power ballads which the ladies in the Audience were all singing along with! They did a great 2 Guitar jam near the end of the concert which had everyone wanting still more. They are worth the price of the Tickets with some great music and good stage presence!

Prince put out Music at great price

Thursday, June 25th, 2009

Hey bought the Prince 3 disc set at Target a month ago and it has some pretty good songs and better yet the cost of $10 was great! Especially like the lyrics on ‘Colonized Mind’ that said “The 2 party system the ILLUSION of CHOICE” ! Yes how true when many times you are voting for what you hope is the LESSER OF 2 EVILS! There is some great guitar work on many of the songs which vary from jazz to Funk like the song ‘OLD SCHOOL COMPANY’ on the MLP sound disc which really wasn’t my thing but that song had the Beat goin ON! the Bria Valante disc had a few good jams but I preferred the Lotusfow3r disc (click on the different objects the site) which was more Jazz and Rock orientated! the idea of a $77 charge though at the site which is almost as outrageous as prince so didn’t pay it! The Bass guitar player on the albums really had some great grooves along with Prince’s “Hendrix’ like riffs! For just $10 I say buy it!! Prince is usually way out in his own world but worth the listen! Prince’s UP YOURS to the BIG record Labels it a thumbs UP!

Great concerts coming to Rialto in Joliet

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

You will be rocked by 3 great concerts at the Rialto theater in Joliet near Chicago this year!! This is a very small theater

and every seat is great and sound is unbelievable since it was an opera house! The rialto is one of the most beautiful

theaters in the world with inlaid Greek sculptures and huge crystal chandelears. Check it out if you can!!

Queensryche will bring their songs including “silent Lucidity”, “Walk the Thin line”, and “Empire” on November 1 -saw them in Milwaukee years ago and they rock and also have new album out

Kansas will rock with “play the game tonight”, ‘Point of no Return”, ‘Hold On’ and other hits- seen them many times and they put on a super show with tons of hit songs! Believe me you will sing along!

The evening with Queen should be good with some great music like “we are the champions”

I put the entire list of shows below for those interested! tickets on sale June 19th!!

Musical Recording tips

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

Whatz the best way to get your music to disk? Hey there are many ways and factors to

look at like CO$T, Quality, number of tracks (especially if recorded at one from multiple musicians), and editing

available on you equipment and computer programs. I am using an M-Box with Pro-Tools and really just getting started.

You can use two lines at once with this setup and they can come from an instrument or a Microphone. I find this adequate since right now I am doing all the tracks and the program allows up to 16 tracks which each can be recorded separately and combined with the others. So you could put down a Bass track, then drums, then Guitar, then Keyboards, then whatever else you’d like. This setup cost me about $600 and I bought a package with included monitor speakers at guitar center. This is a nice beginning setup and all you need is time to learn how to use it and a computer to inter face with. Buy a portable hard drive for the music since otherwise you will fill your computer drive up and also to back it up so you don’t lose your jams. Have fun recording and put in your tips on this blog category. If you have an original track attach it and we will post it if we can.
